Automated External Defibrillation

The outcome for this course is to provide the student with competencies suitable for the provision of Automatic External Defibrillation (AED) to casualties in given environments. Competency comprises the knowledge and skill required of the first aid personnel. These standards of performance include knowledge of, infection control, anatomy and physiology of the heart and using an Automated External Defibrillator.

Each participant will receive a Statement of Attainment for Partial Completion of Apply Advanced Resuscitation Techniques, an AED Handbook and a CPR wallet card.

The approximate time required to complete this course is 5 to 6 hours.

AED is aimed at Industry Groups, School Teachers, Workplace First Aiders and Emergency Service Personnel who want to expand on their basic skills.

Competence in Apply First Aid is required to participate in this course.

The minimum number of persons required to hold this course is 6, however do not hesitate to contact of Customer Service Team if you do not have 6 persons available as we may have a suitable public course or other arrangements.

Competency Acquisition every 12 month as per the Australian Resuscitations Council Guidelines.
