The outcome of this course is to provide the Electrical Safety Observer with the competencies suitable for the provision of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Low Voltage Rescue to casualties in given environments. Competency comprises of the knowledge and skill required of the Electrical Safety Observer to safely rescue the electrician using the Low Voltage Rescue Kit and is able to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation if necessary. These Standards of performance include knowledge of the low voltage rescue kit and the required rates for CPR for the Adult.

Each participant will receive a Statement of Attainment for Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation incorporating Low Voltage Rescue, a Low Voltage Rescue Handbook and a CPR wallet card.

The approximate time required to complete this course is 3 hours.

The LV Rescue course is designed for electricians who perform live electrical work and where work has been assessed as high risk. Examples of high risk work include; fault finding at a switchboard and installing or replacing components of a switchboard.

There are no pre-requisites for this course.

The Electrical Code of Practice recommends competency acquisition every 6 months.
