Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (PCPR) - HLTCPR201A

DESCRIPTION
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS The required outcomes described in this unit of competency contain applicable facets of employability skills. The employability skills summary of the qualification in which this unit of competency is packaged will assist in identifying employability skill requirements.

COURSE MATERIALS
Each participant will receive a Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Statement of Attainment, a CPR handbook and a CPR wallet card.

DURATION
The approximate time required to complete this course is 3 hours.

TARGET GROUP
CPR is a life skill and should be considered by all persons whether it is to be used in the workplace or community or home.

PRE-/CO-REQUISTES
There are no pre-requisites or co-requisites for this course.
This unit includes the following subjects: respond to signs of an unconscious casualty, Perform CPR and communitcate details of the incident. The skills and knowledge described here relate specifically to performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and DO NOT address other aspects of resuscitation, life support or first aid.

MINIMUM NUMBERS
The minimum number of persons required to hold this course is 6, however do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Team if you do not have 6 persons available as we may have a suitable public course or other arrangements.

RECERTIFICATION
Competency Acquisition every 12 months as per the Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.

WHAT COURSE CAN I DO NEXT?
CPR is a pre-requisite for other courses including; Apply Advanced Resuscitation. Emergency Response Training Services recommends the course in Apply First Aid as the next most suitable course for participants.
